Book Publishers for Summer Romance

Filed under: Book Publishers — Book Publishers Expert @ 1:43 pm

Summer is the time that many of us hit the beach and start working on our tans; taking time out of our busy schedule to really sit back and enjoy what life has to offer us during these warmer – and longer – days of the season. The guilty pleasure most often associated with summer is that of the summer romance novel; it’s just long enough to capture and hold our interest but its storyline is such that we do not need to be fully invested in the plot in order to get the gist of what is happening. Romance novels are fun and reader friendly – able to whisk us off to another place, and often another time so that we may become encapsulated in the glamour, adventure, and intrigue that embody this genre of writing.

Of course there are those of us who would much rather try our hand at writing a romance novel than sitting back on the beach and becoming engrossed in another writer’s story. Easier said than done; the publishing industry is one that has natural born obstacles for new writers. Book publishing is a difficult business to break into; often book publishers do not want to read manuscripts that are submitted by writers that are not represented by a literary agent. Even if they are represented by an agent, new writers must await an interminable season while they wait for their work to be read and considered.

Instead, romance novelists can turn to self publishing in order to make sure the story in their head is able to make its way to the pages of a book. Through self publishing sites, authors are able to upload their finished work, take the time to choose those options that will serve to customize their finished piece – binding, paper stock, cover art, etc. After making these choices, writers can then choose to print as many copies of their romance novel as they wish – just in time for summer!
